The task here is to make a mold of this sculpture made out of plaster.
after it's been carefully sealed it's placed on a frame that will be the limits of the mold.

in the next step a clay "shim" is built around the item and will be the limit of each part
of the mold (two halves in this case)
red arrows shows the "registration key" essential to a perfect alignment of both halves of the mold

after mold is completed the original can be easily removed.
a perfect "negative" copy is now available for casting

in this exemple plaster is used. on the left the mold as it appears when joining both halves
on the right is a perfect reproduction of the original
|
|
|
|
The extremely strong Urethane Rubber that's been used for this task will hold hundreds of castings as needed
