Rare piece from the renowned italian ceramicist Gambone. As it shows on the pictures, it presents some heavy damage. In this case even more damage was done by the previous restoration. The porous ceramic literaly absorbed the old glue and made the work far more difficult as it requires intense cleaning. Another major concern is this very one of a kind glaze that is actualy translucent so the color you see is mostly the under glaze (ceramic itself) color.
Step 1: Assessing the damage, this broken Italian ceramic from Gambone has been poorly glued with thick epoxy.
Step 2: Item is boiled to loosen the glue. Glue is removed and the edges are cleaned.
Step 3: Using a ultra thin cyanoacrylate glue, broken parts are reassembled.
Step 4: After filling the cracks, damaged parts are painted to match original color. Final finish coating is applied which is highly resistant to UV light and scratches.
